Seminarians Support Crisis Pregnancy Centers

December 5, 2023

For the months of October and November, seminarians at Borromeo Seminary and Saint Mary Seminary held a diaper drive under the direction of their Social Concerns Committee.  The intent of the drive was to support the beautiful gift of life and to aid struggling families and pregnant mothers.  With the generosity of the People of God in both the Diocese of Cleveland and the Diocese of Youngstown, the seminarians were blessed to collect nearly 37,000 diapers to be distributed to various centers that provide assistance to mothers and families in need, such as Crisis Pregnancy Centers.  Thirteen different organizations are planned to benefit from the donations.  The seminarians remain humbled and grateful for the tremendous generosity of all who supported this endeavor. If anyone would still like to support this Advent project, you are welcome to send donations to the Social Concerns Committee, Saint Mary Seminary, 28700 Euclid Avenue, Wickliffe, Ohio 44092.

For those interested, the places benefiting from donations are as follows:
Catholic Charities in Ravenna
Bella Women’s Center
Maya Women’s Center
Zoe House
Womankind, Inc.
Ozanam Center in E. Cleveland
Migration and Refugee Services
Zelle’s Home
Ozanam Center in Akron
Caring for Women
Birthright of Elyria
Hitchcock Center for Women
Westside Catholic Center

On behalf of the Social Concerns Committee, thank you to everyone who bought diapers, promoted the drive, helped determine where to donate, helped to sort, those who will be delivering this week and next, and for all who continue to pray and sacrifice for the protection of all life especially, the unborn, pregnant mothers, for mothers with young children, for families in crisis, and for the most vulnerable in our communities.
