Special Announcement from Bishop Malesic!

I am happy to announce that I have appointed Father Mark A. Latcovich, Ph.D., as pastor of Saint Ladislas Parish in Westlake effective July 1, 2023. Until that time Father Latcovich will remain as rector of Borromeo and St. Mary Seminaries. Father Latcovich has served in the seminary since 1992, and the last 11 years of them as rector. He has been devoted to the education and formation of quality clergy for our Diocese and beyond, assembled a quality faculty and worked with the Heart of the Shepherd campaign to assure that our facilities will last for many years to come as a welcoming home for our seminarians. I am grateful for his work, vision, and willingness to serve as he is called in the Diocese of Cleveland.

I have appointed Father Andrew B. Turner, STL, D.Min., as the next rector of Borromeo Seminary and Saint Mary Seminary and Graduate School of Theology, effective July 1, 2023. He has recently worked with the USCCB’s office of priestly formation in the implementation of the newest Program for Priestly Formation that will regulate seminary formation in the future. He is a highly regarded priest of the Diocese of Cleveland. Fr. Turner has served in parish work prior to being assigned as a faculty member of St. Mary Seminary as Director of Field Education. He also served as Vice Rector of Borromeo Seminary. Between now and the effective date of these new assignments, Father Latcovich and Father Turner will work together for a smooth transition. Let us keep both of them in our prayers as they prepare for their new leadership roles.
